This was my "Fire Team" (half a squad). There were two squads to
a Section, and the Recondo Platoon was two sections (4 squads) -
roughly 40+ members.
Bob is in front with the pistol. He was injured with the same
grenade that got me, and was later killed in a firefight. Second
row, left to right: Frank, "Doc", and myself. Terry is in the
back. I have maintained sporadic contact with Doc over the
years. I had fairly close contact with Frank for a number of
years, and then he ended it - saying he wanted to put Viet Nam behind
him and not to contact him anymore. I established contact with
Terry for the first time last year, and he gave me the lead to contact
Tom.

This is Eric, our squad RTO (radio operator), while we were on
patrol. I carried the Instamatic camera in my thigh pocket and
pulled it out quickly to turn around and take this picture during a
pause. Eric was injured by the same booby trap that got me, and
he has been in a wheel chair ever since. I have talked with him a
few times over the years.

This is me, carrying our normal load (100+ lbs)

This was as close as we came to taking a bath or doing laundry while in
the boonies. There were leeches over a foot long in that
stream. Tom is the guy on the left.

This is Tom again, 35+ years later, on the day we got together.
